Our Story – Rhulani Photo and Film

What began as a dream in 2017 has since evolved into one of Africa’s best emerging wildlife photography and storytelling brands. Founded by professional wildlife photographer, author, and filmmaker Armand Grobler, Rhulani Photo and Film was built on a simple vision: to share the beauty of Africa’s wild places while inspiring a deeper connection with nature. From humble beginnings, the company has grown to host photographic safaris across some of Africa’s most sought-after destinations, produce high-profile wildlife film projects, and publish acclaimed coffee table books celebrating the continent’s extraordinary landscapes and wildlife. Today, Rhulani Photo and Film continues to pursue that original dream by creating exceptional experiences, telling meaningful stories, and sharing the spirit of Africa with audiences from around the world.

Unlike traditional safaris, our small-group experiences are designed specifically with photographers in mind. Whether you’re picking up a camera for the first time or are an experienced wildlife photographer, you’ll receive personalized tuition in the field, helping you improve your skills while capturing remarkable images of Africa’s iconic wildlife.

Our photo tours are hosted by internationally acclaimed wildlife photographer – Armand Grobler – who shares his knowledge and expertise in the field with guests of all experience levels. Despite his youth, Armand has already published 2 top selling wildlife coffee table books, and has spent nearly 15 years living in the African wilderness as he works on a variety of commercial productions, gaining an exponential amount of knowledge and experience along the way.

Every destination we offer has been personally selected for its unique photographic opportunities, exceptional guiding, and authentic wilderness experience. From the leopard-rich valleys of South Luangwa and the predator-filled floodplains of the Okavango Delta to the vast deserts of the Kalahari, each safari has been designed to maximise both wildlife encounters and photographic potential.

Led by Armand, our safaris are built on years of experience in Africa’s wild places. Through photography, storytelling, and a genuine passion for conservation, we aim to help guests not only capture incredible images, but also develop a lasting connection with the landscapes, wildlife, and people that make Africa so extraordinary.
